Mockingbird Musicians

October Gigs

Trust me, I'm not complaining, but we have been SWAMPED this fall!  It seems like the trend in the south is to avoid the summer months and the humid weather altogether and shift their ceremonies to September-October-November!  We've had various ensembles at The Governor's Club, Belle Meade Plantation, the Hermitage, and others.  There is one venue that a lot of middle Tennesseans might not have heard of - The Christopher Place Bed and Breakfast in Newport, Tennessee.  It was quite a haul, but well worth the Smoky Mountain views!

I played piano and sang, and I brought along one of my favorite guitarists.  We played for a cocktail hour BEFORE the ceremony, which I thought was a great idea.  Then we moved outside and performed the ceremony in front of the gorgeous awning shown above.  Look at that view!

While they ate dinner, we moved back into the gorgeous library and played some jazz and pop music.  They were big fans of Elvis, Neil Diamond and Three Dog Night, so we incorporated them heavily into our set list.
