We have been SO busy these last few weeks! At the end of May, we provided live music for a fundraiser in Murfreesboro at the Oaklands Historic House. The event raised funds for Mindful Care Adult Day Program; a wonderful organization that provides aging members of our community with care, social programs and activities. We had a blast playing for folks, and did a wide range of material - Jazz standards, Beatles, Norah Jones, Neil Diamond, and even a few requests!
Last Saturday, we took a piano, violin and cello trio up to a rural church in White House, Tennessee. They had traditional choices like "Amazing Grace" and Canon in D," but the bride had a very specific song that she wanted to walk down the aisle to, and we were happy to transcribe it and arrange it for the trio!
On the same day, we had a solo guitarist play for a ceremony at East Ivy Mansion in Nashville. He played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," and "I Will" by the Beatles at the ceremony, then stuck around and played some background music for the cocktail hour!
This weekend, we've got a traditional church wedding where we're supplying a pianist and organist, then we're heading out to Carnton Plantation in Franklin with a pianist and violinist. More on those to come!
